Pedestrian Crossing

A pedestrian crossing is a series of very wide white lines, arranged on the pavement of the street in bands parallel to its axis and that form a set transversal to the street, indicating a crossing for pedestrians, where vehicle drivers must let them passed.

They are the intersection area between road traffic and pedestrian traffic; It is the part of the pedestrian route that crosses the vehicle circulation street. At some moments the car passes and at other times it is the pedestrian’s turn.

In those moments where the pedestrian must stop to wait his turn to pass, it is a moment where his trip to a certain destination is interrupted, a moment where we are normally not sensitive to our surroundings to whoever is next to us in that small moment since what is relevant is to reach our destination. We are in that corner, but at the same time we are not there.

Diverse people meet for a brief moment in that passage area for a few brief seconds to share the wait on their trip, we were together at the same time that we were not because our mind is normally somewhere else, we are not aware of our surroundings since our mind is simply waiting to reach a destination.

In that brief moment of encounter there is an aesthetic, stories that are created for a moment in that random pause.

Who is that person? Where is she going? Why is he sad? What is she thinking about? Where does he work? Where is she from?
